ISU Dems Welcome State Senator AJ Wilhelmi

Illinois State Senator AJ Wilhelmi will be meeting with the Illinois State University College Democrats at their meeting on Monday evening.

Wilhelmi was appointed to fill the seat of retiring State Senator Larry Walsh in January of 2005. He is currently representing the 43rd Legislative district which includes the northwestern part of Will County. Wilhelmi is the vice-chair of the Agriculture and Conservation committee, as well as serving on both Appropriations II and III. During his first year in the legislature Wilhelmi has sponsored or co-sponsored many key pieces of legislation. Wilhelmi will be running for his first full term in November of 2006.

Wilhelmi is very large supporter of both Young Democrats and College Democrats across the state of Illinois. He himself is only 38 and one of the youngest members of the State Senate.
